Jesters,
Lots to catch up on. Please see below for this week’s C.O.U.R.T report:
Complaint/Claim
Complaint: I knew other rockstars died, but I never considered I’d lose one from my favorite boyband so young.
Bonus Complaint: I don’t remember a lot about the years around when I started loving One Direction, but this week I realized everyone I interacted with during that time definitely holds memories of me.
Claim: Whether I remember those years or not, the most touching part of this week was the level of association that many still held, a decade later, between One Direction and myself. The flurry of messages when the news broke about Liam Payne’s death made me feel like my para-social relationship was very visible by everyone who knew me.
Obviously, I’m Obsessed With
Deaf West Theaters’s production of Green Day’s American Idiot. Specifically Milo Manheim, who sings the house down boots as the voiced-lead for Daniel Durant’s main character, but is far from the only cutie-superstar featured in the show by any means. I cried, I laughed, I signed applause enthusiastically so deaf actors could know their performance was phenomenal!!! If you’re in LA before the show closes Nov 16, get highly recommend getting a ticket.
Under Oath
Many people have said, it’s so random that Vinnie Hacker was the guest at Night 2 of Charli XCX and Troye Sivan’s Sweat Tour stops in LA. I was not present for the evening, but I did know there were existing ties between Vinnie Hacker and Troye Sivan. Mostly I’ve heard that it was allegedly Hacker who was supposed to be in the One of Your Girls music video, but Ross Lynch saved the day after a late bail. If that’s the case, good to see Mr. Hacker do a make-good to fulfill Troye’s fantasies.

Repeat Offenses
A couple friends and I hosted a One Direction fan meet-up in celebration/mourning of Liam’s life for those who were grieving in the LA area last week. To keep this on a light note, I used to participate in these sorts of fan-centric things when I was a teen so to help produce one in 24 hours with two friends that I met through 1D was a really full circle moment.
Then I went digging for proof of my old fan activities and came across this photo from my town’s 1D flashmob group that I was a founding member of in 2012. The “Mrs.Harry Styles” shirt was obviously my favorite.
Temporary Insanity
I got a ticket to the Night 1 of the Sweat Tour at 7PM the day of, which is approx 1.5 hrs before they hit the stage. I was so panicked for time that I forgot to wear brat green!!!! However I did make it to the venue in time, then proceeded to head bang so hard that I felt like I broke my neck the next day.
